Veterinary Council of India (VCI) inviting applicants for All India Pre-Veterinary Test for filling up 15% of total number of seats in Veterinary Colleges in India (except from Jammu and Kashmir state) from Indian Nationals for admission for Programmes in B.V.Sc & A.H. course for the academic year 2013-14. The All India Pre-Veterinary entrance exam (AIPVT) is conducted by Veterinary Council of India (VCI) New Delhi. The duration of B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry) degree course is of five years including six months of compulsory rotating Internship.
Note: Students from Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible to appear as Jammu and Kashmir has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984.
AIPVT 2013 Important Dates:
Date of sale of AIPVT 2013 information bulletin and application form by Hand/Post is from 08 January, 2013 to 08 February, 2013
Last Date of Submission of All India Pre-Veterinary Test application Forms is 15 February, 2013 (5.00 PM)
Last date of submission of AIPVT 2013 application form from the remote areas is till 02 March, 2013.
Remote Areas: Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Lahaul and Spiti Distt and Pangi sub division of Chamba Distt of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep

Eligibility Criteria for AIPVT 2013:
Student must satisfy following criteria to be eligible in AIPVT 2013.
Nationality: Applicant must be an Indian national. J & K provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 have not been extended to the State of Jammu & Kashmir, candidates from that State shall not be eligible to appear in the said examination unless they submit an Affidavit in enclosed Proforma on Non–Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that: – They are not eligible to compete for B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats in the State of Jammu & Kashmir and hence, not eligible to seek admission in Veterinary Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir and they are not domicile of Jammu & Kashmir.
Educational Qualification:
Applicants should pass any of the following Exam:
The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English as a core course recommended by the NCERT after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as given by the National Committee on Education.
The Intermediate Science examination in science from a recognized University/Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as there subject of study.
Marks Percentage required for eligible in AIPVT 2013
For General Category Candidate should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 /Intermediate Science Examination. Also have to pass individually in different subjects.
For the candidates belonging to the SC/ ST or other special category (Other Backward Classes) of students as specified by the Government, there will be be 10% less marks required for AIPVT admission than that for General Category.
Note: Candidate who is taking the qualifying examination in the 2013 as to the AIPVT exam 2013, or whose result is awaited, may also apply but candidate but they have to submit their result and other documentary proof as or before 30th June, 2013 during Counselling.
Age: Candidate must be or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December, 2013. Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1st of January, 2014 or later will not be eligible to appear at the AIPVT 2013.
AIPVT 2013 Syllabus:
All India Pre Veterinary Test 2013 syllabus will be of Xlth and Xllth class standard under the 10+2 Scheme/Pre-Medical/Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination of an Indian University/ State Board/CBSE. There is no separate syllabus for the AIPVT 2013 examination is prescribed by the Council.
AIPVT 2013 Scheme of Examination – Marking Scheme & Exam Pattern:
All India Pre Veterinary Test 2013 will be of 3 hours (180 min) duration and contain one paper consisting of 200 objective type (multiple choice and reason-assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. AIPVT 2013 Question paper will consist of three Sections and the Question distribution will be as follow:
Physics – 60 Questions
Chemistry – 60 Questions
Biology (Botany & Zoology) – 80 Questions
Total - 200 Questions
